PROJECT FAIR: Every year Ridgeline holds a school-wide Project Fair. Students research a topic of their choice then create a visual display to share the information with others. Here are some examples of projects completed by students from previous years: a model of a car engine built with Legos, pictures of pets and how to care for them, pictures and facts about the life of Houdini, a mobile of the solar system, a volcano model, pictures and facts showing the life cycle of a frog, a plant experiment, rules and playing instructions for soccer, 3 generations of a “family tree.” Most projects are completed at home with family supporting students as needed. Poster boards for Project Fair ($3.00) are available for sale in the office. This year’s Project Fair is Tuesday, April 24. On that day family and friends can tour the classrooms and enjoy the displayed projects after school at 3:05-4:05 or in the evening from 6:00-7:00. Let me know if you would like more information, project ideas or a cardboard display.

OUR FIELD TRIP TO HULT CENTER & EUGENE LIBRARY: Tuesday’s field trip was amazing in so many ways. The concert at the Hult Center was fantastic! Noam’s mother, Idit Shner, lead a Jazz group on stage alongside the Eugene Symphony Orchestra. We learned all about the type of jazz music called swing and about syncopated rhythm as in Ragtime. We enjoyed listening to music by Scott Joplin, Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin. The audience all danced to the George Gershwin song, I Got Music. Such fun! After the concert we walked to the Eugene Library and enjoyed a tour of the book sorting room and a story. When finished we walked over to the LTD downtown station to board our bus back to school and watched as the bus left without us!! The LTD director rescued us by sending for an off-duty bus and taking all of us back to school on our own special bus. We were a bit late for dismissal but parents were relieved to see us when we finally returned. Thanks for your patience.
