Tuesday, Jan. 6 RCO Meeting. Jon presents Middle School Program for 2015-16

THE JOY OF SHARING: Please consider bringing in a nonperishable food item to help fill holiday baskets for Ridgeline families in need of assistance. This annual Food Drive continues until Friday. We really appreciate your support with this program.

5th and 6th grade families looking at Middle School options will not want to miss this very important, upcoming RCO Meeting on January 6 at 6:00 PM. Middle school teacher Jon Labrousse will present an overview of the 2015-16 middle school program to the RCO. The presentation will take place at the beginning of the RCO meeting (from about 6:05 to 6:45) followed by a Q&A session. Students are welcome and encouraged to attend as well. Please note that this RCO meeting will take place the very day that we return from winter break, so mark your calendars now. Jon Labrousse will do his usual middle school presentation in February as well, but this RCO meeting will provide a more intimate setting for discussion. Childcare is available. Hope you will join us on Monday, January 6 at 6:00 PM.

HOMEWORK: No homework during the winter break. Enjoy your family time! Several of the students in my class have started using this site to practice math facts. The free site can be used both at school and at home. All a student needs is their 4-digit pin. Let me know if you would like to try it at home and I’ll send your student’s pin.

WINTER HOLIDAYS: We’ll spend the rest of December and January discussing holidays around the world. We’ll especially focus on Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Los Posadas, Christmas and New Year’s Eve! I’m hoping students will share one of their family’s holiday traditions with their classmates. If you have books or objects that support our studies please consider sharing.

Sharing: 12/15 Symbol of a holiday, 1/6 A New Year’s resolution or a favorite book

Azusa and I are grateful for your trust and hope your holidays are happy and safe.
