HULT CENTER, NOVEMBER 14: Our class will attend a special youth concert, The Musical Time Machine, at the Hult Center on Tuesday, November 14. We will ride the9:25 LTD bus to the Downtown Station then walk the rest of the way. We return to school by 12:30 in time for lunch. Please send a pocket snack for your students to eat along the way. The cost is $5.00 per student. Please complete the attached permission form and return as soon as possible. If you would like a hard copy of the form sent home, just let me know.

PUMPKIN PATCH FIELD TRIP: Our pumpkin Patch Field trip to Detering’s Orchards was great! The weather was warm and sunny, the Golden Delicious apples were sweet and juicy and our wagon ride was fast, muddy and bumpy! Before taking them home, the students washed, weighed and measured their pumpkins.

BOTANY STUDIES: Our trip to Detering’s Orchard was the perfect introduction to our next Botany study. We are investigating pumpkin seeds, the pumpkin life cycle and parts of a pumpkin! We may even roast some seeds and make some pumpkin muffins. Yum!

AMAZING INTERNATIONAL DAY: This year’s International Day celebration was extra special thanks to our students and parent volunteers. We began the day by taking time for children to show their costumes and international objects to their classmates. Next, with help from our volunteers, the kids researched their country to find information and make a flag. When everyone was ready the children arranged themselves into continent groups and shared their country information and flag. Next Vicente and his mother, Gemma, performed a traditional Chilean Folk dance! After recess, the students found a wide variety of international foods displayed on tables in the classroom. Lunch was fantastic! Check out the photos on our Facebook page.

Thank you, families, for your support of this annual tradition.
