RE-ENROLLMENT FORM

Dear Ridgeline Families,

The electronic re-enrollment form is now available! Let us know your student’s enrollment plan for next year before February 9th.

The re-enrollment form is used for:

o   securing your current student’s spot for the 2018-19 school year.

o   signing up for sibling preference.

·      If you have a sibling of a currently enrolled student, who you wish to enroll for the 2018-19 school year, this is how you sign up for sibling preference.

·      releasing your student’s spot for the 2018-19 school year.

·       If you do not plan to attend Ridgeline next year, let us know on the form.

It only takes a few minutes to complete. URLhttps://goo.gl/P6X5u4

**Families that do not have access to the internet please check with the office.

FIELD TRIP TO HOUSE OF CHEN – Our trip to House of Chen was wonderful. When we arrived at the restaurant a group of parents awaited us! I especially appreciate the parents that accompanied us on the buses. They helped keep our students safe and on schedule. Thanks for all your support.

VALENTINE’S DAY: Valentine’s Day is February 14. The students are weaving special, heart-shaped envelopes to hold their cards. If your child would like to bring cards for their classmates, please be sure there is one for everyone. I will attach a class list.

ASIAN CELEBRATION 2018: Students from our class are invited to participate in the Bhangra dance performances during the 2018 Asian Celebration. The event is held at the Lane Events Center on Saturday and Sunday, February 17 and 18. Admission is free for kids and $6.00 a day for adults but families of children that participate will receive one free adult admission for both days of the festival! Please let me know if your student will participate and I’ll be sure your name is on the free admission list. The dance they have been practicing is wonderfully energetic. Our kids are scheduled to dance on Sunday at 4:30. Please arrive by 4:00 and check in with Azusa or me behind the main stage. Bhangra dance instructor, SatPavan encourages girls to wear a colorful outfit-skirt or pants. Boys are asked to wear jeans and a plain, light colored shirt. We’ll have a colorful sash and headband for them to wear. Hope you and your student can attend! Visit this website for more information:http://asiancelebration.org

ASTRONOMYNow that everyone has created a galaxy (some even named theirs!), we move on to the life cycle of stars. All stars are formed within a cloud of gas (hydrogen) and dust called a nebula. The final stage of a star’s life depends on its mass. Medium-sized stars end up as a brown dwarf star. Very large stars become a black hole!

ZOOLOGYThe next group of vertebrate animals is birds. Birds are warm-blooded and covered with feathers.  They are the first animal to stay and care for their young. If you have books or other materials that support our studies please consider sharing.

SILVERWARE: We still need spoons & forks! We usually have extra spoons and forks that the students can use for their lunches but we are gradually losing them. Please consider including silverware in your student’s lunch. And if you have some extra (smallish) spoons and/or forks that you would like to donate please send them in. Thanks!
