Sharing Theme: 1/19- a tool that measures length, 1/19- a tool that measures time

HOUSE OF CHEN: In honor of the upcoming Chinese New Year, we’ll enjoy lunch at House of Chen Chinese Restaurant next Wednesday, January 21. Our buffet style lunch will include three vegetarian choices and Mar Far Chicken. Students and adult supervisors will travel by LTD bus, leaving school at 9:15 and returning by 1:00. The cost is $7.50 per person. Student scholarships are available. If you would like scholarship information, please call the school office
541-681-9662. Please be sure we have your student’s permission form.

ATTENTION GARDENERS: Seeds for Spring! One again we will participate in the Territorial Seed Fundraiser. Catalogs and special fundraiser order forms were sent home Monday. Ridgeline will receive 45 cents per dollar ordered. This is a fabulous way to get a jump-start on your spring planting and support Ridgeline at the same time! Friends and family are welcome to order, but they MUST include a Ridgeline contact person, as seeds will be send home with students. Watch for more details, including due dates.

BIOMES: A biome is a habitat and the next one we study is forests. We’ll begin with Temperate Forests, including coniferous and deciduous. (Ask your student if you’re not sure what these are!) Next we’ll take a close look at Rainforests and the children will create dioramas to demonstrate their learning. Please send in a small rectangular box (kid’s shoe box) with your student. If you have books or items that support our study of forests, please consider sharing. Thanks!
