Project Fair this week! The Project Fair is scheduled for this Thursday, April 19th. Friends and families are invited to come and enjoy project displays after school from 3:15-4:15 or from 6:00-7:00. Students can bring their projects to school Thur. A.M.

Sharing theme: Week of April 16: Something with a 3-syllable name

Week of April 23: A sign of Spring

Latin Beat for Kids: This Saturday students are invited to attend the Hult Center presentation, Latin Beat for Kids, as performers! The children will rehearse prior to the concert and then will be called up to the Silva Concert Hall stage to perform the song, De Colores. A Performer voucher was sent home last week. This voucher can be redeemed for one free student and one free adult ticket and the tickets MUST be picked up before Saturday. Participants should arrive at the Hult Center at 9:45am on Sat, April 21. Questions? Email (cheri.spies@ridgeline.org), call 541-681-9662 or send a note.

Hatching Chickens! Thanks to Ridgeline’s bookkeeper, Amy Genz, we are incubating 6 chicken eggs. They should be ready to hatch in a couple weeks. Very ‘egg-citing’ for us allJ

Biome/Habitat: Our last biome is Grasslands. Grasslands occur on all continents except Antarctica and are located between forests and deserts. Throughout the world, grasslands are known by many different names. In North America they are known as "prairie", in Asia "steppe", in South America the "pampas" and in South Africa a "veldt". In North/Central Africa tropical grasslands are called Savannahs. Grasslands are home to an amazing variety of animals (grazers, burrowers, pollinators and hunters) and to many types of grasses and wildflowers. If you have books or other materials that support our studies please consider sharing.

Calling all summer birthdays! I’d like students with summer birthdays to have an opportunity to celebrate with their class. Please contact me and we’ll plan a time in April or May when your student’s special day can be shared. The children so enjoy seeing photos and hearing stories about their classmate’s early years. To schedule your student’s “walk around the sun”, e-mail, send a note or call (541) 681-9662.
