Cheri's Update 4-20-2020

Dear Families,

Welcome to Week Four of home learning. Thank you for all the work you are doing to help your children choose and complete home learning activities. Since ours is a multi-age classroom and students are functioning at different levels, we’ve provided many choices and alternatives to listed activities. Encourage your student to choose activities that are interesting and can be completed at an appropriate level. Please set up your child’s Seesaw account and help them get started. We’ll demonstrate the use of Seesaw Activities during the 10:15AM zoom meeting. It may be helpful for parents to tune in.

This week I’ve included a Week 4 Learning Schedule document along with resources. I’m also including several choice activities so students can choose work that is of interest and sufficiently challenging. Feel free to help with this if necessary and I encourage you modify the schedule/activities to meet your family’s needs. I suggest students take a break after 20 minutes of independent work.

Outdoor activities done with family are the best! I encourage parents/students to use their imaginations/creativity to integrate Language Arts, Math and Cultural (science/social science /arts) learning while enjoying time together.

Please feel free to ask questions and provide feedback.

· How things are going?

· Activities that work well and those that don’t…

· Ways we can support you and your students

· Any questions you have ????

We miss you and can hardly wait until we can all be together again, as a classroom and as a school community.

Take care and stay safe!

Cheri and Azusa
