TALENT SHOW: On January 25, from 6-8 p.m., Ridgeline students will rock your socks off! Please join us and cheer on our talented students! Several students from our class plan to share their special abilities with you.

AUSTRALIAN STUDIES
We continue to study the geography, animals, and people of Australia. Thanks to Killian’s family, we now have access to a Didgeridoo (musical instrument). If you know someone that can play this interesting instrument or if you have items or books that support our learning please consider sharing.

Next, we’ll focus on biomes/habitats of Australia. Students will have an opportunity to create a diorama that illustrates an Australian biome. Please send a small to medium-sized shoe (or similar) box to school.

Birthdays: If you would like to schedule a school birthday celebration for your student, please contact Cheri in advance. Also, if your student has a summer birthday consider a ‘half-birthday’ celebration at school. We are happy to celebrate a student even if the actual birthday has passed.

CONFERENCES (no school) January 31 & February 1
Mid-year conferences this year are an opportunity for you to discuss your child's academic progress and Montessori experience with the teachers who spend each day with them. Our hope is that conferences will give a more whole-child and personal picture of a student's growth than the conventional mid-year report cards that we have done in the past. This significant change was in response to staff and parent input last year. We urge you to take advantage of this mid-year opportunity to meet with your student's teacher. Again, these conferences are in lieu of mid-year report cards, making this face to face time especially important to gain an understanding of your child’s progress. There are still many conference openings in all classrooms. Please remember to Sign up for a conference time today; they are rapidly approaching!
