The Physics of Rock ‘n Roll: Mark your calendars and spread the word! UofO Physics Instructor, Stanley Micklavzina and Ridgeline alum, Alden Micklavzina, bring the Physics of Rock 'n Roll to Ridgeline on Thursday, November 10th. It will be an evening of sound, lights and physics ‘phun’! Gym doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7pm. A $5 donation per person or $20 per family will benefit the capital campaign. Ridgeline Rising thanks Dr. Stan Micklavzina for supporting our forever home!
INTERNATIONAL DAY: International Day was fantastic. Children researched countries from five different continents then shared their research with classmates. Afterwards we enjoyed a table filled with snacks from different countries. Yum! Thanks for your support. Special thanks for the help our volunteers provided.
DESERT BIOME: Next week students continue to research plants and animals of the desert. I appreciate the books, plants and photos that children bring to share.
SOLAR SYSTEM: We began with constellations, and our constellation, the Milky Way. We then looked at types, sizes and stages of stars. Now we are zeroing in on our own star, the Sun, and it’s family of planets, moons, and asteroids. If you have books or items that support our study of the Solar System please consider sharing. Thanks.
BOOK FAIR AT BARNES & NOBLE, NOV. 18, 6:00-8:30pm: This annual event is fast approaching. This year our class performance will include favorite songs in English and Chinese! Presentations begin at 6:00pm and our class is scheduled to perform at between 6-7:30pm. Please let us know if your student will be able to attend the book fair.
