Hello parents! It’s been several weeks since I have updated you on the events happening in the classroom. First of all, thanks to all those who attended our annual Project Fair. There were fun and interesting things to see in each classroom.
We have had some enlightening discussions on electricity, heard wonderful presentations on the Great Barrier Reef, chosen new Australian animals to research, and more. Occupying my mind and that of the third year’s was/is the state assessments. I am very proud of how hard the third years have been working and I’m pleased to say they are putting forth their best effort.
Next few weeks
The Jogathon is the big deal in the coming weeks. More details will be sent home the first week of May. Volunteers will be happily put to work if you would like some volunteer hours.
In the classroom we will be continuing our Australia studies. This includes Aboriginal art, animals, and geographical interests. The next presentations will be occurring on May 7, 8, and 9th. That is plenty of time to be well prepared and comfortable with the information to be shared. I am currently working on having some Australian animals to look at up close and personal, and a visit from a local didgeridoo musician.
