Annual Parent Survey - Thank you for taking the time to fill out the parent survey. It provides information that various school groups use to make decisions for the coming year. Please remember to record the time it takes you to complete the survey in your volunteer hour log.
Please keep in mind the survey results are shared with all Ridgeline stakeholder groups. If you have specific concerns, we encourage you to directly communicate with the appropriate staff member. —Ridgeline Montessori Site Council

This week…
This week we took a look at the diversity of species in Central America in both plant and animal life. We also looked more closely at how the ocean works, why oceans are salty, and why objects are more buoyant in salt water compared to fresh water. Whether your student remembers any of this is still to be determined. The class as a whole was pretty squirrelly this week. I was hoping to discuss solar energy as part of our functional geography studies, but the class had other ideas. We will double-down on this lesson next week to make up for lost time.

Next week and beyond…
Please remember that next week we have our last Native American presentations of the year. I hope everyone is prepared and feels practiced on their assigned day. When students aren’t ready we end up having too many presentations on the last day. It’s hard to sit on ones bottom for 30 or more minutes straight. The schedule is at the bottom of this email. In the coming days we will look at the Amazon River Basin, ancient South American cultures (just the beginning of a 3 month process) and solar energy.

Parents are invited to come and watch their student’s presentation. This list is not necessarily an order of presentation, simply the day they will present.  A student whose parent shows up to watch them will go first and those who do not have parents present will go a bit later in the order.  We will begin about 8:50 on each of the three days.

If you were anticipating or need a different day, please let me know and I may be able to make a change.
