We have had some issues with placemats lately, especially for students without their very own placemat. If your child does not have their own cloth placemat, please send one to school with them ASAP. Soft cloth please, not plastic.
This week we learned more about the difficulties of being an animal AND living in Africa. Where everything is very hot, very fast, or very hungry, it’s nice to know that we can learn about life in Africa from the comfort of our classroom. We also took a good look at the world of reptiles (turtles and tortoises in particular). This diverse group of animals (African reptiles in general) will be the major focus of our next student presentations. We will have a few amphibians in the mix as well.
Next week and beyond…
Next week we will be doing some art related to Africa and I encourage you to send your student to school with something that can get a bit dirty. Paints are not always as ‘washable’ as the label implies. This will be done on Monday and Tuesday. Later in the week we will learn about weight and inertia, and hopefully root adaptations.
