This week…
Howdy folks! This week we learned about amphibians and their fragile habitat. We also learned about how gravity, though sometimes irritating, is one of the best things ever. Without it, I just don’t think I could stick around anymore. Mention the word ‘pendulum’ at dinner and see if your child has something to say about it…

Allow me to offer up thanks to all those who made it out to the B & N book fair. I think the kids did a great job with the presentation considering the time we had to prepare. I also want to thank all those who purchased books for the classroom. We have a lot of books on Africa and Australia now and it will enrich our studies.

Next week and beyond…
Please remember that next week we have our first presentations of the year. Encourage your child to practice the presentation with you so that they have a chance to work out the bugs and figure out the pronunciation for difficult words. I have attached the presentation schedule and times to this email. There is a lot going on next week so please be sure to check out the eNews for descriptions of events.

Students will present their information and then takes a few questions and receive positive comments.  Presentations should be 5-7 minutes for 2-3 years, and 2-4 minutes for 1st years excluding questions and comments.  The goal here is for students to practice standing in front of their peers. Please encourage your child to prepare well and have a neat poster or other way to show the information they are sharing.
